If you’re a fitness enthusiast, you may have invested in an indoor cycling machine. But indoor cycling can be hard to master. Here are some mistakes that you should avoid when purchasing an indoor cycle.

Indoor cycling mistakes

1. Not purchasing a bike that’s the right size

When you first get your cycle, it’s important to test out all of the different gears and make sure they work properly. This will help ensure that you purchase a bike that fits comfortably for you. If your body is too large or small for the indoor cycle, it can cause discomfort, knee pain, and other health problems.

2. Buying a used cycle

If you’re on a tight budget, you may be tempted to buy a used indoor cycle. However, this is not the best option because it can be dangerous and frustrating. The chain may not be properly adjusted, and the frame may need to be replaced. Buying new will save you money in the long run.” Keep reading Basic Idea of Cyclocross Bike Race

3. Failing to adjust your position on the bike correctly

When you first start using your indoor cycle, it’s important to adjust the position of the seat and handlebars. Failure to do this can cause major discomfort and injury.

4. Riding too fast

When you’re starting out, it’s important to ride at a slow speed so that you can learn the ropes. If you try to pedal too hard right away, your muscles will become accustomed to working under high-pressure conditions and this may cause injury or pain in the future.

5. Not stretching before you ride

Stretching before you ride will help to quench your thirst and prepare your muscles for the workout ahead. It also helps to prevent injury by ensuring that your joints are flexible and loose.

6. Not wearing proper cycling gear

When you’re riding your indoor cycle, it’s important to wear proper cycling clothing. This will protect you from the elements and keep you comfortable while exercising.

7. Overuse of the indoor cycle

If you use your indoor cycle for too long or too often, you may develop pain or injury in your joints and muscles. Injuries caused by overuse can be very difficult to heal, so it’s important to take care when using this type of equipment.

8. Never use the indoor cycle if you’re pregnant or have a medical condition

If you are pregnant, it’s important to consult with your doctor before starting an indoor cycling program. Pregnant women may be at an increased risk for birth defects if they use this type of equipment without proper safety precautions. Likewise, people with certain medical conditions should avoid using indoor cycles altogether because they can aggravate the condition.

9. Not warming up before you ride

Warming up is essential for preparing your body for the workout ahead. This will help to increase your blood flow and preparatory muscles for exertion. By warming up, you’ll avoid any potential injury and help to maximize your workout.

10. Not warming down afterward

When you’re finished exercising, it’s essential to take the time to cool down properly. This will help reduce the risk of muscle pain and stiffness, as well as improve your overall flexibility and range of motion. By cooling down correctly, you can ensure that your indoor cycle workout was a success!

How to avoid indoor cycling mistakes?

To avoid making any indoor cycling mistakes, be sure to:

Consult with your doctor before starting an indoor cycling program if you are pregnant or have a medical condition.
Properly warm-up before exercise by stretching and engaging in the light cardio activity.
Take the time to cool down afterward by stretching and using ice or cold water on your body.
Be aware of your body and take care when performing various exercises.
Watch for any potential injuries and make sure to consult a doctor if you experience pain or swelling.
Remember to always wear a bike helmet, sunscreen, and appropriate clothing when riding an indoor cycle.
NEVER use an indoor cycle if the equipment is not properly maintained.

Be sure to cycle in a well-lit area to avoid falling or hitting your head on objects in the dark.

What is the proper form for indoor cycling?

The proper form for indoor cycling is to keep your back straight and your core engaged. To bicycle more effectively, you should also use shoulder-width or narrower gear ratios, pedal at a moderate pace, and maintain good posture.

There are a few simple steps you can take to help keep your exercise bike from wobbling. Adjust the seat height and recline the front of the bike as needed. Wipe down the machine’s frame, handlebars, and pedals with a damp cloth every day or two to remove dust and dirt buildup. Use grease on moving parts if they get noisy or stop working properly.

Indoor cycling is a great way to get in shape and lose weight, but there are some common mistakes people make when starting out. Consider the most common mistakes made by new indoor cyclists and how to avoid them.

10 useful kitesurfing tips to start

Kitesurfing is a water sport that consists of gliding over the water using a board or skis, using a kite that acts as a motor of movement. This sports activity is a form of kiteboarding that combines aspects of snowboarding, windsurfing, surfing, and skateboarding, making it an extreme water sport. In recent years it has become fashionable among lovers of water sports due to its connection between the wind and the waves.

If you are a beginner in kitesurfing, keep in mind that at first it can be very difficult, but after a few classes of instruction you will find it very exciting and rewarding. Discover below some kitesurfing tips to get started in and enjoy one of the most fun water sports:

Basic kitesurfing tips beginners

Do you want to start kitesurfing? Below we will give you ten very useful tips to get started in the world of kitesurfing so that you can enjoy this fun sport:

Be patient

Remember that the most normal thing is that at the beginning you do not achieve the objectives, but it is all about keeping trying. You can not stress about it, because kitesurfing is not something that you can expect to go well at the first change. This sports modality requires practice, perseverance, and patience.

Learn to listen

As in anything new you are learning, the key is to listen carefully to the instructor, otherwise, you could put yourself in danger. Remember to take classes from a qualified, experienced instructor who has sufficient knowledge about the place where you are going to practice kitesurfing.

Don’t kitesurf alone

Although you hesitate between training alone or accompanied , you should know that even the best kitesurfers dominate the waves together with a partner or group of friends. You will always need someone to launch and retrieve your kite. If there is a strong taste of the wind and you have no one to hold on to, you could end up paragliding.

Practice, practice, and practice

Many wonder if it is difficult to learn to kitesurf. Well, you should know that practice makes perfect. Although no kitesurfer is perfect, there are always new things to learn, and it is true that this sport is based on practice and perseverance. Don’t be discouraged if you didn’t get it right the first time, or even the 20th time, just keep practicing because eventually, you will.

Practice recreational flying

Knowing how to control a kite with your feet on solid ground is essential to start kitesurfing. If you learn to control a kite on land, it will be easier and more instinctive when you are on the waves of the sea.

Wear the right equipment

A kitesurfing athlete must be only as good as the material they wear, and not only for performance but also for safety reasons. There is always new equipment for this sports modality since it is relatively new. To get started in kitesurfing, we advise you to buy new equipment that your pocket can afford.

Pay attention to sea and wind conditions

Just because it’s windy doesn’t mean you should kitesurf. If in doubt, don’t do it. You can also ask a lifeguard or consult your instructor.

Learn the signs of kitesurfing

This goes for all water sports. Signs in the water are important for all of us to stay safe and happy. Learn the universal hand signals and the rules of kitesurfing. This is something you should learn in your introductory kitesurfing classes. Knowing how to communicate with our partners in the sea is essential.

Feel comfortable and safe

Trust your equipment and your ability to learn to kitesurf. Don’t think that everything you’re going to do is going to end you underwater or pull the kite at the wrong time.

Have fun

This is the best advice of all that we have given you. Have fun, don’t worry if things haven’t gone perfectly. And you find it difficult to learn to kitesurf, we want you to laugh every time you fall! Determination is the key.

Nine windsurfing tips to get started

Windsurfing is one of the most deeply rooted nautical disciplines in Spain and, despite the different federative movements against it, it is still alive after more than 30 years in the Olympic Games (Class RS: X).

Now that the good weather is here, there are many fans who are starting out in this discipline. Next, and from the hand of the Valencian company Ocean Republik, we will tell you a series of Windsurfing tips for the practice of this sport.

Where Can You Practice In Spain?

Already in the Peninsula, Tarifa is another of the meccas to practice this sport along with areas such as Almería or the Costa Brava. But those who want to start this sport can take their first steps in areas such as Mallorca, Valencia or Murcia. Despite the spectacular images from professional competitions and championships, windsurfing can be done in any coastal area with light, moderate or strong breezes. In addition, the light winds for a beginner is ideal as it will allow you to practice all kinds of maneuvers.

What Is The Best Time?

First of all, it is recommended to consult the navigation schools or the companies in the sector settled in each area of Spain to find out the best schedules. It is usually recommended to windsurf in the morning or at midday as the wind conditions are more constant. It is important at first to avoid offshore winds (from land to sea) because they can push you too far from shore. You don’t have to fear the sea, you have to respect it but without fear. Fear is always a bad companion in this type of nautical sport.

What Time Of Year Is Ideal For Windsurfing?

It can be done all year round. In fact, it is common to use and rent different types of wetsuits to be able to practice windsurfing when the weather is not good. Even so, it is true that the activity is more attractive from the Easter season until the end of the summer.

Technique, Key Factor

Windsurfing is a sport that can be practiced by both men and women. It is a sports practice where the more technical condition is needed than physical strength, although it is also necessary. In fact, in the last Olympic Games in London, the Sevillian Marina Alabau won the gold medal. And Blanche Manchón has also been proclaimed Best Sailor of the Year 2010 by the ISAF. In the men’s category, Iván Pastor from Alicante will be eligible for a medal at the next Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro in 2016.

Is Windsurfing Physically Demanding?

Of course, it is necessary to know how to swim, but this sport can also be practiced by children. Thanks to the equipment that manufacturers make tailor-made for all ages. Any sport can always lead to injuries. As in other sports, windsurfers should warm up and stretch all parts of the body before sailing.

Is It Expensive To Windsurf?

The best windsurfing tips for those who want to know about this sport is to rent the equipment. And attend classes regulated by professionals. So later on, they can decide to buy a team that can involve between 800 and 1,500 euros of investment.

Patience And Wind

For those who are not used to the practice of sports where the wind plays a key factor. They must be patient and at the beginning, it costs a little. There are days that the weather will not accompany you to enjoy the wind and waves. Try to start on good weather days with light winds and calm seas.

What Type Of Tables To Use?

It is recommended that beginners use large volume boards, with centerboard and small sail to have little effort. Make sure that the material you use is adequate, starting with very heavy, small. Or excessively used material can lead you to abandon this discipline in the first attempts.

Navigation Preferences

Motorboats must give way to sailors, company boats also have preference. In port, starboard has a preference, that is, those who sail with their right hand on the mast have preference.

With the right precautions, an hour is enough to be able to go windsurfing independently. An interesting perspective, achievable, however, paying attention to every detail: the choice of equipment, knowledge of the winds, an excellent balance. And it all starts from the lessons: trying to tackle this discipline independently, without relying on a qualified instructor, is an operation that can lead to nothing. Here, then, are the tips to be able to approach windsurfing and immediately acquire basic autonomy on the board. To suggest them is Andrea Papa, federal sailing and windsurfing instructor, and coach of the Italian youth windsurfing team.

Kids Hardtail Versus Full Suspension MTB Bike

Today we are going to be comparing Kids’ hardtail versus a full suspension bike and we’re going to be looking at all the differences that these two.

So, let’s go here we have discussed details of some differences of kid’s hardtail vs full suspension mountain bike.

Some of Main Differences

So, the main difference is obviously the hardtail, having no rear suspension, and the full suspension having back suspension.

Now, this definitely changes the geometry of the bike as the space in between the top and the bottom is more so it needs space for the shock.

There is you have a few differences between full suspension vs hardtail so you don’t need so much consciousness about it.

As you can see it has much less space on the hardware. The second difference is that the full suspension has proper air suspension. They can compress and adjust and put air into.

Whereas the key Tod tail is just a normal suspension that doesn’t require. Eh, another big difference is the gears.

So, the gears, you can actually see the numbers, whereas on a full suspension and you can’t, as this takes up less weight and, um, they’re more aimed at adults, so they don’t need the numbers. That leads me to the derailers.

So, this is the Rayleigh, the front derailer on the kid’s hardtail has three gears whereas on the full suspension it doesn’t have any gear.

Some Basic Differences

Although the full suspension does make up that with a bigger cassette being around 10 to 12 speeds, as you can see, the kid’s hardtail cassette has a much small cassette and has fewer skis on it.

Being around seven to eight, there are a couple of small details. Like the kid’s hot towel has a belt and a riff some reflectors on the handlebars and the wheels, whereas the full-suspension bike has none just to save weight.

So most modern bikes, full-suspension have a dropper seat post, which helps with doing cross-country and the kid’s hand towel just usually has a quick release seat.

Not a dropper or a multi-tool because it’s easy to use for kids, as you can say and you may not be able to but the full-suspension bike has much bigger breaks.

Then the small kid’s hardtail brakes, which means the full suspension has more braking power.

The kid’s hardtail usually has a plastic pedal for, uh, kids that are learning and the full suspension has metal pedals.

The wheel size for the full suspension can be is 27.5 or 29, or even both and for the kids, hardtail wheels are generally 27.5 or a bit smaller, and last, but definitely not least the tires as you can see, these tires are quite thick but compared to the kid’s heart.

Full suspension bikes are easier to ride and rough terrain or hardtails require more effort. This means that you can ride faster with more confidence on a full-suspension bike, but the effort you need to put in on a hardtail can make the ride more rewarding on smooth terrain.

Hardtails are even faster because they are lighter weight and have a more direct connection to the ground.

So hardtails tend to be lighter weight and have better components. Whereas a full suspension bike is more comfortable and hardtails are better for learning skills, but you’ll ride with more confidence on a full bike.

I’ll smooth terrain hardtails faster, but when the going gets rough, you will be quicker on a full-suspension bike.

They’re both good for their different things, but whatever bike you choose, you’ll be sure to have lots of fun.

Advances Issues

There’s no date in a well-set-up full suspension bike that is going to make most trails easier to ride. And that means most of the time they’re going to be faster as well. But how do you harness potential while sets up a full suspension bike, especially in jury bike lock.

Its 29 are super capable so use that base performance to bond through the rough section. The best line is the best line.

Now use your skills on the bike’s performance to make it rideable flat paddle riders really benefit from the rear suspension and the added security of your feet staying on the puddles.

The compliance of the bike is going to give you more grip in corners. It’s just going to give you a more consistent footprint on the ground as Spencer’s move and to keep the wheels on the ground as well.

And that just gives you a more reliable amount of friction. Now it does mean that you can open up lines and corners slightly differently than you would do on a hardtail.

So inside lines might be more difficult than a hardtail, or even just stick into that perfect line, even if it’s rough like it is here, there’s breaking bumps in the way It’s just still going to be the best lines ride, a full-suspension bike,

A full-suspension bike can open up the trails to a different style of riding. You can ride them hard and you don’t always need to find the best smoothest bike a suddenly it’s flat might be the fastest way

I’ve taught by harnessing the suspension performance, to smooth out the trail and make the bike. With a preload. It’s almost like trying to cheat the bike, trying to squash it really hard into the takeoff when you hit it, the bike can’t do as much more, it’s going to feel like you haven’t gotten a suspension, so can send you up.

The best of both worlds really preloading works really well for jumps, but of course, as soon as you pump into the bike, it’s going to want to rebound.

So, the time is very important and you want to try and do it in that compression where you go in the takeoff. So the bike is already going to squash a little bit when.

Really exaggerate that a bit and so the bike is fully squashed, manually. Find way more lift on that. Takeoff, the more suspension you’ve gotten to a bike, say a downhill bike, big 200 mil travel front.

More effort and you’d have to put into this to get the same amount of lift clear and jumps into nice London’s is going to be much faster because it’s smoother.

But also, this technique opens up the possibility for clearing gaps in the trail. They’re also going to be faster.

Conclusion

Kids love riding and they do ride on a hardtail or full suspension. When kids riding on there is some issues that should be maintained.

There is we have discussed some important facts about hardtail and full-suspension bikes. If you want to learn more you can visit OutdoorXsports for getting more biking tips and tricks.

The top 6 things to learn in windsurfing

Rules, equipment, clothing, and technique to get on the board, raise the sail and start windsurfing by learning to use the wind

It is true that kitesurfing is enjoying increasing success among practitioners in spite of windsurfing but the “sailboard” is always a great classic that every true outdoor enthusiast should try once in a lifetime. Windsurfing became vintage before it went out of fashion, it is very “eighties” but it remains the best sport to experience the dimensions of nature “water” and “wind” in close contact, even tighter than on a sailboat.

The top 6 things to learn

1. First, you need to know what a windsurf is like

“We can consider it a real miniature sailboat, without a rudder but very reactive and performing. We’re just talking about a surfboard, a mast, a boom (an aluminum tube attached to the mast and sheet angle of the sail), and the sail itself! Unlike kite surfing, which allows for quick learning without requiring knowledge of sailing theory, windsurfing teaches you to be a sailor. The same theory that I have to learn to conduct windsurfing (without which I go out to sea but then never come back) I also need to conduct a sailing boat!

2. After the vehicle, let’s talk about the equipment. What do you need for those who want to start windsurfing?

“Someone, even in the summer season, likes to wear neoprene shoes to improve grip on the board, despite the fact that the surface is already made in such a way as to be non-slip. The wetsuit, also known as sealskin, evidently serves to keep us warm while we are in the water and each surfer decides whether to wear it or not according to their perception of cold and according to where they want to sail. The waters of Lake Garda will certainly always be warmer than those of the Atlantic. Sunglasses? Better to let it go. In windsurfing, you get wet, fall, glide, and fly! It is true that there are glasses with water-repellent lenses that get rid of water droplets in an instant, but if you don’t have good technique, you end up losing them quickly ”.

3. Do you always need a life jacket?

“By law, after the pleasure boating reform, it is necessary to wear a buoyancy vest when sailing over 300 meters from the coast. Since the law requires sailing vessels (including windsurfing) to navigate beyond this limit, in the absence of delimited areas and/or hauling lanes, the surfer should always wear a life jacket, even if unfortunately it is rare to see it wearing!

4. How do you learn the various wind speeds?

“The paces are about the direction we windsurf with respect to the wind. To understand the gaits you must first have a good knowledge of the wind rose. Keeping in mind that the wind ‘comes from and the current ‘goes towards’, we need to divide the gaits into carrying when we sail down with the wind (wide traverse, great reach, stern) or in the direction of the wind and the gaits to go up the wind (cross, upwind). I recommend everyone to take at least one lesson in sailing theory and wind theory to have clear and essential concepts for navigation in mind “.

5. How do you start? How do you get on the table?

“First you position the board with the sail down, then you stand up and then you raise the sail. Let’s start from the beginning: to start I always recommend placing the board sideways to the wind with the sail downwind perpendicular to the board (therefore in line with the wind). I stand up on the table keeping the same feet to the right and left of the tree, equidistant from it, and look downwind. I bend my knees, lower my butt, take the elastic attached to the mast in my hand and, keeping my torso straight, use my weight to pull up the sail.

Once the whole sail is out of the water, I take the boom with the bow hand, rotate the pelvis and the bow foot projecting myself in the direction I want to go. So I bring the mast forward over the bowed knee and place my stern hand on the boom in front of me. The windsurf will remain unstable and stationary until I have given some pressure to the sail by punching or closing the boom with the stern hand, just as much as it takes to have a bit of headway that allows us to reposition the feet more aft and navigate by increasing your speed. That said, know that it is much easier to do than to say ”.

6. What are the best conditions for learning to windsurf?

“Wind that blows from the sea to the land (to avoid shipwrecks!), Flat or slightly rough sea, a wind with an intensity not exceeding 8-10 knots (meters per second), preferably constant and homogeneous. It would be better to avoid very gusty (and busy) days as they complicate learning since, in these cases, the direction and intensity change constantly ”.

Basic Idea of Cyclocross Bike Race

This is a common question cyclocross what is it? What should I do it? And how do I get here? Cyclocross is one of the older forms of cycling.

Definitely, pre-dating any mountain biking, BMX, any of those cool sports cyclocross was invented by roadies who due to winter and being too cool decided let’s race through the mud.

Basic Things of Cyclocross

So, they left the roads, went through the Paddocks over hedges through streams, and just got awesome.

Why should you do it? Well, why wouldn’t you? Because like across this is a winter sport. It’s not a heck of a lot of things.

Now here we are going to answer a popular question what is cyclocross and we have discussed its detail.

So, you can come along on a Sunday morning, beat yourself against the wall for an hour and have a few drinks, have a good time. Feel like you’ve done something with your weekend.

What can you ride? And who’s a for and you can ride almost anything. Obviously, a real cross bike is very specific and we’ll show you why and what one is short, but any good club and one to ten and this is the way.

If you turn up on a mountain bike, he turned up on a road bike. Even if you have a road bike and you’ve fitted some commuting.

It’s just, everything’s good, and now who can ride literally anyone six-year-old to sixty years old. One of our best club members isn’t as the eighties rides all three races in a day.

I’d like to see some young folks do that. Let’s show you around what we love about the cross and what you may face If you come along to a day.

Cyclocross Bike Type

So, what is the type of cyclocross bike? Well in a sense a cyclocross bike looks like a road bike, both some subtle differences.

So, you’ve got nice big clearances in the fork to allow for effect. As well as down here at the bottom bracket and after the seat stays, you want to choose generally, we’ve been more compelled to make it a wee bit nimbler for most cross bikes.

These days are going to a one-bite chainring with a clutch just to minimize dropping those chains and all the real high-end bikes, hydraulic disc brakes.

So, to recap you need a modified road bike it’s better If you’re looking for one bite to do them. Cross bike is a good option because you can put slicks on it right down the road.

But alternatively, a gravel bike probably ticks those boxes just like a road and gravel bike. Cyclocross is primarily an off-road sport.

It’s come about from winter conditions being too poor to ride the road. So, you leave the roads, you go across the fields. We’re in a field are an excellent starting point for any cross race.

When you get your look around you to see what amazing, awesome technical, horrible features you can find up to a point, the more horrible, the better who’s up and down and single-track jumps rocks. Not really rocks, but definitely sand and definitely grass also muddy.

Great hills are so good and hills are the great equalizer or the great separator and you know, how to fit you are your guys at the club that will ride up these hills and there is you need to concern about cycling injury.

It’s a push, not even running, it’s pushing so as well as running uphill, we also like going down.

There is a question who was into corners is really great because if it’s muddy people, Dan, who is Vigo super-fast, like this nice long hill here, I’m really good too.

Especially if you come charging down here enough, you can actually jump off this into the sink tray. He’s super sweet than at the bottom.

Now, this may look like a regular bag and you think what are we going to do on that? But with a wee bit of cross creativity, you turn it into a super steady and that was taking advantage of natural features, which we love.

When we can’t find a natural feature to match people up. We put in some barriers, barriers like this can be negotiated two ways. You can either hop them and you can run them

Running is a nearly foolproof way of getting over the barriers and ensuring you get around to the next lap safely.

Good Start for Cyclocross

Now we’re going over a proper cyclocross start a fast and furious cyclocross start and it’s an important skill to practice before you get into a race.

As a quick tip, when you’re out on your bike, think of each red light or stop sign that you come to, and training as a great way to practice starts for a second.

One of the most important things you can do for a good start is to stay relaxed. There’s going to be tons of stuff going on around you. So, it’s important to focus this on just having a good start and on yourself.

Next, you want to have a nice 20-to-30-minute warmup and you want to check out the course, potentially watch a race before you see if there are any bottlenecks, potholes ice oil slicks anything that could take you off your start game.

Next, you want to roll up to the start then nice light gear and you want to make sure that your cranks read three and nine o’clock.

I like to turn my pedal body so that it’s nice and flat so I can step right on the pedal when the gun goes off.

Lastly, you want to decide if you’re going to stand next to the bike to start or you going to sit on this out. I prefer to sit and then I wait patiently for the run.

So that’s cyclocross starts and I always like to say that you won’t win a cyclocross race at the start, but you can definitely lose one so practice up.

So, wherever you are, you don’t have to it and did you want to come sees us here at Southern cross Canterbury?

Conclusion

Starting in may get on down and so thanks for reading our article. Hopefully, this has explained a bit better, what cyclocross is, why you should do it, and what you’re missing out on and we hope that you don’t turn up.

This article we trying to give you a proper idea and knowledge of Cyclocross race and if you want to learn more you can visit OutdoorXsports for gathering more information.

Surfing, windsurfing, and kitesurfing: variants, benefits, recommended diet, precautions and risks

Sports are full of adrenaline and ideal for those who love to keep fit and especially close contact with the sea.

The surfers can define real acrobats of the waves, are stylish and exciting to watch, as is this aquatic sports to practice.

But how many types of surf are there? What benefits do they bring? What is the most recommended diet for these sports, and what are the main precautions and risks?

Let’s see it together.

Surfing, windsurfing, and kitesurfing: variants

The surf can be practiced both at sea and in inland waters of lakes and rivers; but not only that, the equipment used for this sport can also vary, and based on the latter the classic surf branches into other variants:

Classic serf

You follow the natural movement of the water to glide along the wall of the wave itself, trying to remain standing on the board. Much more difficult than windsurfing, as you need to be able to analyze wave motion very well and have a lot of balance and strength in your legs;

Windsurfing

The balance on the board is managed by the propulsion of the wind on the sail. The difficulty, in this case, is precisely that of controlling the sail based on the direction of the wind itself;

Kitesurfing

In this case, you glide on the water thanks to the wind that moves the kite, or kite, to which you are connected via a control bar, which you must maneuver to control the direction itself. This variant, among the 3, is certainly the most difficult, as it is necessary to know how to control water and wind at the same time;

Variations that in common require basic requirements: a good basis of coordination, balance, as well as a good physical shape.

Surfing, windsurfing, and kitesurfing: benefits

The benefits of these water sports are different, here are the 3 biggest ones:

Antistress

Before considering the physical benefits alone, it is also advisable to remember how much surfing in general puts you in contact with nature, allowing you to relax and relieve the tensions of everyday life. In fact, sports in general, but surfing more, allows the release of endorphins and wellness hormones, thus allowing us to better face our fears, as well as increase concentration and patience.

Fitness

The whole body is constantly in motion in the surf, of whatever type it is. And in addition to a good workout for many muscles, this sport also helps the metabolism, allowing you to burn about 400 kcal per hour. And if, as it should, you go along with it all with a warm-up, stretching, and pre-and post-surfing yoga, then the physical benefits will be even greater.

Stimulation of the cardiovascular system

Thanks to constant movement, surfing allows you to improve your breath and the cardiovascular system itself. This is because, during the entire time dedicated to this sport, the heart is forced to adapt to the fast pace, from when you row on the board, to when you ride the wave, always in careful balance.

Surfing, windsurfing, and kitesurfing: recommended diet

There is no real specific diet to follow when you become a surfer, but there are still some good rules that you should know, as they help the body keep fit and take in the right nutrients.

Let’s look at some of them now:
Take a good dose of fruit and vegetables;
Use low-fat proteins, such as poultry, lean meat, lean fish, and lean dairy products;
Hydration is very important, given the waste of energy and sweat during physical activity;
Always have a pre and post-workout snack: especially with carbohydrates to have important doses of energy that can then be used, then with fats of animal origin and above all with simple sugars;

Surfing, windsurfing, and kitesurfing: precautions and risks

The risks that can be incurred by practicing this kind of water sports are different, which is why it would always be better to follow some precautions, to limit the danger factors as much as possible.

Let’s see some of the major risks and how to remedy them:

The stress of ankles and feet: due to the position taken on the table, these parts of the body are particularly subjected to stress, so it is better to always do a good warm-up and also dedicate yourself to post-workout yoga;

Hours cchio Surfer: pathology that leads to a bone element accumulation in the ear canal after long periods of time. This is exostosis, and it develops above all in those who surf in cold and windy environments, as the body, to protect itself from aggressive foreign agents, develops this “extra” protection. The problem is that when even the slightest grain of sand enters it, then there are obstructions and hearing difficulties. To avoid all this, you can try to wear a hood, especially when returning to the ground, to restore the right temperature of the ear canal;

O cchio Surfer: call by doctors pterygium, is formed due to the sun, the water reflected and then refracted on the nose, he is then reflected in turn in the medial portion of the eye, creating irritation of the cornea. Obviously, other factors also contribute, such as saltwater splashes, sand, dust, and genetics itself. Wearing sunglasses, even those specially formulated for surfing, help a lot to limit this pathology;

How to learn windsurfing? Windsurfing for beginners

We are going to teach you how to learn windsurfing easily and safely. You will only put in some patience and a little perseverance. Everyone thinks about the difficulty of this sport. This statement tends to create confusion. Windsurfing was not a demanding sport in the beginning. It sure was in the 80s and 90s, but today with the amount of material available for initiation, it is strange that it is not possible to do a few laps soon.

If you can get a friend to lend you aboard with volume and wide, as well as a small rig, any sail no larger than 3.5 meters will do, you can have the first contact without many complications, provided there is little wind. Therein lies the crux of the matter, “moving,” moving is not the same as gliding, jibe, jumping, etc. Therefore, to enjoy windsurfing, you will have to work hard, many falls, muscle aches, catapults, material breaks, moments of stress in the sea, until the days come when things start to turn out naturally, quickly and without thinking about the movements. That is the reason why we affirm that it is the most difficult to master. It is very technical.

Windsurfing for beginners?

It’s all technical, not brute force. Another question about learning is physical fitness. Everyone complains of pain in the lower back, forearms, shoulders, all over the body. That is, we use a lot of force to navigate. Here we will repeat that windsurfing is a very technical sport, so technical that you can see children lift the sail from the water with one hand, and an adult hardly lifts it a fourth. Windsurfing is all technical and muscular ergonomics. It is a continuous game with the weight of your body to do all the movements.

Take these Starter material (board and rigging)

It will be worth a wide board to have the best possible balance and a generous thickness for buoyancy. These types of boards are nicknamed “boats,” but to learn that boats come to us, we will also use them to ride the family or as paddles thanks to their size.

Rigging (sail, mast and boom) materials are necessary

Regarding the rigging (sail, mast and boom), the smaller the first days the better, the less weight to make the movements and, consequently, less effort and falls. Those falls are what will cause us to exhaust ourselves before. Of course, do not expect to pick up speed with that rig, for that there will be time. It will come in handy when we get level and want to get into the real wind.

Regarding the conditions, you have to look for beaches without waves, no undulations lakes or swamps are recommended to learn. Regarding the wind, we recommend places with constant winds and few gusts to avoid back jerks, since at first, you will surely pull more arms than counteracting the force of the sail with your weight, which is as it should be.

Summarizing

To learn, the ideal is to take a course where you can at least stay with the technique of the most basic movements. You can try to learn from a charitable friend who is willing to put up with us, but it will never be the same as a course. There are also cases of self-taught people, first reading the windsurfing bible, reviewing all the existing videos on YouTube. For us, this type of person deserves all our admiration. They will achieve it thanks to their perseverance.

How to use the windsurf board?

Now that we have the windsurf board, we just have to learn how to use it, starting from the basics. Let’s see how to use this tool and how to navigate on the water.

First of all, you need to know that the board is made up of the rig, which is made up of the sail, the mast and the boom. There are foot straps and rig housing. You have to push the board into the water until the fin is submerged. Take into account the direction of the wind and maneuver it so that it is always downwind.

Climb onto the board, grabbing the grip of the handrail and bending your knees. At this point, you have to try to stand up, trying to sway back and forth to find the right balance. Bend your knees, pull the sail out of the handrail as if it were a tug-of-war.

The back and body must be in an upright position. Grab the tree with both hands and let it swing. Practice the maneuver by tilting the mast vertically to the left. It will rotate the shaft to the right and the table will rotate counterclockwise. The faster the wind is, the faster the board will turn.

At this point, start moving by placing both hands on the boom, pushing with your hand back to accelerate and release it to proceed to slow down. To tack, it is recommended to lean towards the stern or the bow. As you progress and experience, you need to change the size of the board or sail. It is advisable to try this activity together with other people more experienced than you in order to understand how it works and how to move.
